PrideLands is a family...a family that continues to grow with each little family member that is born. I started Pridelands to help educate animal lovers on the unique qualities of the breed and to provide loving homes to Champion-bred Rhodesian Ridgebacks. As a stay at home mom to two humans, our Rhodesian Ridgebacks are also my full time priority. Our dogs are well socialized and receive plenty of attention. Anyone that comes in contact with our Rhodesian Ridgebacks are amazed with how well behaved they are.  I have learned the importance of good breeding through experience and have owned many dogs for my entire 41 years of age.   Two years ago we lost our 15 year old deaf dalmatian that was my best buddy and whom I loved dearly.  When I purchased her from the animal shelter, I was unaware that she was deaf. People kept telling me that I should her put down immediately. I never had the heart to do it. I didn't agree with the philosophy that just because a dog is deaf that it's life is not equally as valuable as any other dog that can hear. However, it was not an easy road and we did have to work with her constantly with many hardships to overcome and even taught her sign language to a point. But the reward was very much worth it with the unconditional love and protection we received in return.  Learning from that experience, I am very particular in my showing and breeding practices and want only the best temperament and health traits bred into my lines so that they may bring many blessings and joy to the families that they go home to.

 

Established in our hometown of Knoxville, TN, Pridelands has relocated to Charleston, SC...our dream location! We have no kennels and our dogs are raised in home with our family where they are well cared for and spend time inside and outside. We will remain a small show and breeding facility to ensure that all of our dogs are given the attention that they deserve.  All of our dogs are DNA tested, AKC and/or UKC registered, and come with a lifetime health guarantee for hip dysplasia and dermoid sinus.
